Once you’re properly “bumpin,” it can be hard to not invest in at least a few bump-friendly maternity pieces. My belly grew BIG and very fast—so I was already shopping in my first trimester.
I was so impressed with how cute some brands are—you don’t have to sacrifice your style while pregnant.
Before getting pregnant, I was quite hesitant about all the muumuu styles and frocks I’d seen everywhere…they just didn’t feel like *me.*
What I love most is that so many of the styles I’ve found below are meant to fit you with or without a bump. I really dislike the idea of buying things that I know will only fit me for a few months of my life.
Here are some of the cutest bump-friendly maternity outfit ideas!
My Favorite Maternity Clothing Brands
For good measure, here are some of the top maternity brands that were either recommended to me numerous times, ones that I personally shopped at, or places that I think have super cute styles.
- Pink Blush (use code “BLONDEABROAD25” for 25% off)
- Seraphine —Their baby-wearing coats are the cutest things ever! You can wear them while pregnant, while baby-wearing, and without a bump!
- Bae The Label (seen above)
- Kindred Bravely – for nursing bras and undergarments
- Bumpsuit – I didn’t get one personally, but they’re so cute, and lots of women love them!
- Free People – A lot of my wardrobe is from Free People, and so many of my favorite pre-pregnancy pieces fit me throughout pregnancy
- H&M
- Target
- Old Navy
Helpful Tip:
Rather than spend a ton of money on clothes that are only going to fit you for a few months, opt to rent maternity clothes. Check out companies like Rent the Runway, Le Tote, Stitch Fix, and Mine for Nine for maternity wear rentals!
My Favorite Shoes for Pregnancy
Kiziks were my go-to white sneakers before pregnancy, and honestly, they’re perfect if you’re pregnant.
Initially recommended to me by my chiropractor when I was having serious issues with my lower back, and I physically couldn’t bend over to tie my shoes (pre-pregnancy), Kiziks are a dream as you can just slip them on.
There is no need to tie, untie, or bend over to pull them on or off. They’re designed to slip on easily, while still being extremely fashionable. Plus, they’re VERY comfortable. I swear by these sneakers.

Maternity Sweater Dresses
As a good half of my pregnancy was during winter, cozy sweater dresses were a major go-to for me!
Here’s a link to the mint maternity sweater dress seen on the right — it’s soft like fleece, and the length is perfect! I ordered a medium, my pre-pregnancy size, and it fit great (at this point I had gained about 15 pounds).

Fitted Body-Con Maternity Dresses
I’m not usually a big fan of mini dresses, let alone fitted, stretchy ones. But I loved them during my pregnancy!
My wardrobe was almost exclusively made up of dresses during my pregnancy. You couldn’t ask me to wear pants most days.
I also loved midi dresses—I rocked this Fitted Smocked Olive Green Dress for my backyard baby shower!
Pink Blush Maternity has become my go-to place for cute pregnancy dresses that highlight my silhouette.

Rompers & Overalls
As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t want to compromise my style or wear anything that didn’t feel like me during pregnancy. And I’m the type of girl who loves a good pair of overalls…
So naturally, I had to find a number of cute and comfy maternity overalls, which became staples in my pregnancy wardrobe!
While rompers and overalls aren’t necessarily the easiest outfits to get in and out of for frequent bathroom trips — they’re super cute and comfy.
The brown romper/jumpsuit can be found here!
Flowy Mini Dress
These are a fun mix between body-con and something a little flowier—mini dresses like the ones above felt flattering and were super comfy. I love the balance of the long sleeves, so it never felt like I was showing a ton of skin.
This is a style I wore before I was pregnant!

Maxi Dresses
For our babymoon in Cabo, it was either a cover-up maxi dress by the pool or a more glammed-up maxi dress on the beach. Either way, these maxi dresses are great pregnancy outfits!
While I was in Egypt testing out our TBA Escapes Egypt Tour, wearing breezy maxi dresses was key to combating the heat and dressing appropriately for a conservative country.
There you have it, folks! Gone are the days of billowy silhouettes to hide the bump—there are so many cute styles to wear during pregnancy (and honestly, most of these I can wear after, too!).
